We all need to keep learning. As the local, national and international pressure (and temperature) rises we need to do better at learning and sharing what we know to facilitate rapid change in the energy efficiency of the built environment. Always action focused, my team and I built and continue to rapidly grow, Meshwork; a free education platform delivering weekly webinars on all manner of sustainability and building topics to architects, developers, consultants and many more professionals.
With a local and global reach, the advice and learnings can and have been used by many to help improve their approach and thinking around building design and interaction.
With over 4,000 members on a building sustainability platform unparalleled in the UK, we have covered topics from renewable energy masterclasses, sustainable building materials, overheating, award-winning case studies and industry-wide discussion groups. We would love you to join us and always are looking for great speakers and projects to feature.
The coming months are no exception to the great content, and we have TEDx speaker and Sustainability influencer, Sarah Daly talking to us about Regenerative & Sustainable Placemaking and how investment in community can create long lasting positive legacies and future-proof communities.
Talking of joined up thinking… our next webinar may be of interest too. Leah Robson and Richard Taylor with extensive entrepreneurial experience talk about how to best optimise and enhance your building project sustainability. Practical tips for joined up renewables.
If you are visiting Brighton this month, have ever fancied exploring Brighton’s buried past? Venture beneath the Royal Pavilion and check out the rarely seen tunnels. Who knows where they may lead…..
On the Pavilion theme, the historic De La Warr Pavilion Building tours (Bexhill-on-Sea) are open to view and explore with an opportunity to take in the stunning modernist architecture.
Keeping with the built environment theme and exploring buildings close to our heart, Grayson Perry tells the stories of home and explores how our homes affect our sense of identity. Not to be missed!
Alternatively, you could check out the newly restores Art Deco Saltdean Lido which is open for guided tours this month.
And finally, if you can’t get into town but want to find out more about key planning issues we need to address listen into the City Plan 2041 Webinar to find out more.
