Our popular Basement & Tunnel tours offer an unpolished, behind-the-scenes glimpse of areas of the building not normally open to the public. Discover more about life below stairs for Royal Pavilion servants and see the vaulted basement used as an air raid shelter during WWII. The tour ends with a visit to the tunnel which led to George’s royal stables and riding school, before emerging in what is now Brighton Museum.
Please note: the tour is underground, and includes areas which have low ceilings, uneven flooring and/or are dimly lit. Children must be accompanied by an adult (not suitable for buggies). Due to the service areas covered in the tour it may be subject to last minute cancellations and alterations.
Tuesdays 3 & 17 September, 1, 15 & 29 October, 5 & 19 November, 3 & 17 December & every Saturday from 7 September to 14 December
