Festive Evening With Drinks And Canapes

We are greatly indebted to Chichester Community Development Trust, who have generously invited us to Graylingwell Chapel on Thursday 14th November from 6pm to 9pm, sponsored by RW Armstrong.

The timings of the event are as follows:
6.00pm Drinks Reception
6.45pm Treasures From Your Home presented by Rupert Toovey
7.45pm Charity Auction
8.15pm Treasures From Your Home presented by Rupert Toovey
9.00pm Carriages

The festive evening will begin with drinks, canapés and live jazz in Graylingwell Chapel with wine sponsored by Toovey's Antique & Fine Art Auctioneers and Valuers and Flintlock Ltd, followed by a talk from Rupert Toovey: Treasures from your Home. Guests are invited to bring an object from their home for valuation and comment. The event will feature a Charity Auction in support of the charitable work of Sussex Heritage Trust and Chichester Community Development Trust. There will also be an opportunity to speak to the heritage team at The Chapel to hear more about its unique history. A cash bar will be available.

Graylingwell Chapel is a Grade II listed community heritage facility in the heart of Graylingwell Park, Chichester. Built in the 1890s as the chapel to the West Sussex County Lunatic Asylum, later knowns as Graylingwell Hospital. It was designed by Sir Arthur Blomfield and Sons, known for his outstanding Church Construction and Restoration. With funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund, the Chapel was reopened by Chichester Community Development Trust in 2022 as a unique community facility showcasing the history and story of the building. The restoration and conversion went on to win a Sussex Heritage Trust Award in 2023 and was described by our judges as "a model example of conversion for community purposes".

All monies raised will go towards the work of the Sussex Heritage Trust and Chichester Community Development Trust.
